food glorious food

had a weekend of good food...

saturday night was tos dnd at raffles city convention centre...didnt win any lucky draw prizes unfotunately...heh

sunday afternoon me and ah yee visited maxwell road food centre...we had chicken rice (tian tian hainanese chicken rice), peanut soup, and the 7 for $1 hum chim peng which u had to fry yourself...then we went to get egg tarts from tong heng-diamond shaped and sweeter-which tang had told me about...after that its another pastry shop which sold another type of egg tarts-circular and less sweet...think the tong heng one better imho...

evening was peili's wedding dinner at dragon gate restaurant at harbourfront centre...it was also sort of a primary sch gathering in a way...me, jeffrey, yongliang, weiming, shirong, royce, leonard, jianming, ellie, minyee, xiaotian, yuanshan, yili made up the primary sch frens section...

and in the tradition of all wedding dinners...the banquet started late...hurhur...think 8+ nearing 9...when the invite card stated 7...hoho...but anyways the ceremony went sthg like this:
-video of the morning proceedings...groom go bride's home collect bride...tea ceremony...etc
-bride groom enter...go stage cut cake and say stuff
-9 course dinner begins
-bride groom change gowns...go stage pour champagne on pyramid of glasses...and say more stuff
-yum seng x3 ...shirong was our primary sch representative to go on stage to yum seng
-bride groom go around tables to take photos with everyone (i hope we get to have a copy of the photos they took at our primary sch section table though)

our primary sch section also had a glass knock glass session-without the yum seng cus we thought it wld have been awkward to yum seng on our own when the bride and groom were not even there...

i downed just half a wine glass of red wine and my face started to burn...heh...

when it was time to leave...shirong, jeff and weiming brought the beer jug and glasses and wanted to make peili oh ta la with them...heh...hard to describe the whole scenario out in words...but it was really a funny moment...

yongliang sent me, jeff, shirong and weiming home in his red picanto...never a dull moment with these guys...it was way past my bedtime when i finally got into bed...a memorable evening in the company of my close friends...priceless
