times like these what we should really do is thank our lucky stars and be grateful with what we already have and own...to not complain too much...to be contented...

i'm not a saint...as much as i'd like to keep giving and pleasing pple...for once i'd like to be the one receiving niceness...i'd like to be the one doing the choosing...i'd like to be in an environment where we didnt need to depend on other pple's 脸色 in order for stuff to progress...

my company carried out its retrenchment (they insisted on calling it "restructuring") exercise on wednesday...

a number of managers (who incidentally weren't in what i called the "iron rice bowl" gang)...all the AAs except 1...got the sack...not too sure how many associates kenna though...

they insisted the selection was based on "performance"---yea...i'm pretty fucking sure it was...

i'm shaken cus my boss is no longer around...now we have no proper engineering manager...in his place is someone my friend calls an angry little boy...an angry little boy who commands alot of influential powers in the industry due to his connections according to my friend...

i'm stirred because wayang triumphs over everything in my company...it doesnt matter if you know nuts...it doesnt matter if you do meaningless stuff which doesnt help the company to earn money...as long as u know how to wayang correctly at the correct time... as long as u know how to carry balls...as long as u have buddies in the iron rice bowl gang who looks after u...i'm pretty sure you'll earn your very own mini iron rice bowl...

the company is just so caught up in getting right its wayang activities...as long as u embrace that 3 letter nonsense, you're a winner!!!

and to think u've seen all the wayang there is while you were in the army...the 3 letter nonsense brings wayang to an entirely whole new level man...it's making me sick...so very very sick...

on the subject of being sick...i kenna some wicked throat infection on tuesday...the infection brought with it bouts of fever and an unforseen kind of sore throat pain i've ever experienced...took me 4 days to start recovering properly...

Pulau Aur O.W.D 13-15 Jun '08

spent last weekend over at Pulau Aur, M'sia to complete my open water diving course...i'm glad my friends persuaded me to go...i was so bent on chickening out on the actual open water dive cus the pool lessons did a pretty good job in killing whatever's left of my interest in picking up this new skill...

i'm just grateful everything turned out fine in the end...and i'm now a certified open water diver=)

sundown marathon 2008

joined Bryan, Max, Koh and meimei for this inaugural night run...just wanted to experience what's it like to run a marathon which started at midnight...

route was not bad...a pity it rained at the end (first time i got caught in the rain during a race)...yawned alot as i was running at a time when i was normally sleeping...didn't pia for this run as i promised to accompany meimei...we came back in around 6hr 15min...
