spent the christmas long weekend in Brunei...many many thanks to both Ronald and Jeanie for bringing me around...putting me up at their place...taking me to superb makan places...shan't post any food pics here cus there's just waaaayyyyyyy too many!! make your way to my facebook photo album for the foodie pics...hehe

it's back to work tomorrow...school's starting in 2 weeks time...results are out...i got a B and B-...ha...

looking forward to the next trip already...ha...here's to a better 2009...

how do you fall off a bike while cycling on a straight road

went to pengerang with the tos gang again today...and yes...clownish adrian fell off from his bike on the ride back to the jetty...

all i could remember was that i was doing a routine adjustment of my ass to relieve the numbness around the LP/ass region and next thing i know i was in push up position on the ground...

scraped my knees and palms...thank god i didnt wreck the bike...many thanks to CheeBeng for helping me put back the bike's chain link which came off during the fall...

anyhows...here is the highlight of the day...

Standard Chartered Marathon 2008

with no training done to prepare for the marathon, i gave myself a target which was to come back within 4.5hr...

took me about 4hr 28min to finish...totally pooped...

the run was filled with muscle aches and painful joints...the crappy part was only 7km into the race, the pain (and the hungry stomach) started to kick in...dreadful i tell you...dreadful...in the past i was well over the 21km mark before all the shenanigans started...

i wonder how many more marathons i can endure...

sick and tired...

got these headaches out of nowhere the day right after my exams (which i thought the papers were pretty darn tough...fugz)

for 3 days since monday night i've not been sleeping well...go to work feeling like shit...feel like shit at work...come back feeling like shit...can't even enjoy my semester break...

frigging mysterious sickness man...never even eat heaty stuff...been sleeping alot during the exam period also...all of a sudden kenna...nabeiz

and just like ahm, i'll be running on a <100% fit body for this sunday's scm...and on top of that...no training done at all...wtf!!!

disappointing performance this year...

had retail therapy at saucony warehouse sale with choo and tang after that...now that was shiok...ha

me and boss kevin had initially wanted to have bak kut teh at hong lim food centre...
but unlike our previous trip here, the long queue at heng kee indicated the stall was open!!!! and we decided to have this instead....hohohohohohoho


look at the queue man (and it was still there when we left)...we had to wait for 20min for our turn...by then they had run out of chicky drumsticks...

and it was finally in front of us after 20mins...

frigging superb curry gravy...the chicken was alright(was a little disappointed with the serving portion though)...plenty of tau-pok...a few slices of fishcake...plus 1 big chunk of potato......they had choices of $4/5/6....we took the $5...

we finished ALL of the gravy...cus it was so damn good...boss kevin said once u've tried this stall, you wouldnt want to have the one at the 2nd storey...

in any case if you're ever at hong lim food centre...make sure to queue up for this...it's well worth your wait...and if it's closed or sold out, you can make your way to the other end of level 1 and have a go at "morning bah kut teh"(yes they spelled it as "bah")...its the black type of bak kut teh....

don't understand why the organizers persist in presenting the official timing results in race bib number order instead of finishing position...they did the same for wave run...geez...

Salomon X trail run 2008

refreshingly muddy...full of snaking slopes...together with the usual east side humidity...gives you an enormous sense of well-being upon completion that's for sure...

at the beginning you kept siam-ing the muddy parts of the route hoping to get as little mud on your shoes as possible but once into the "forest area", no escape le...siam here will land on mud...siam there will also land on mud...

at one point there was a sign saying "obstacle ahead"...i was like...hmmm...and then i saw a small muddy "pool"...you needed to jump onto the sole piece of dead wood in the middle of the "pool" so as to kenna as little muddy water as possible and after that go up a muddy step...

and as i went up my right shoe planted into the mud and out came my right foot...i was like...knn...as i turned back to retrieve my shoe...all the muddy stuff gushed into my shoe when i pulled it out from the mud...

and you know that squishy feeling when you put on a wet pair of shoes that got drenched in the rain? that was the exact feeling i got after putting my shoe back...except it's squishing with muddy water instead of rain water...

what followed next once out of the "forest area" was a slew of snaking climbs up and down the trail route slopes...it was FULL of slopes i tell you...FULL of frigging slopes...

came back in about 47min...both legs from knees down all muddied...shoes...no need to say le...heh...

next up...swisshotel vertical marathon! and no training done yet! woohoo...

ok...what i'm gonna quote next doesn't really have anything to do with the title of the entry...but i will still use it as the title anyways cus i came across it in men's health magazine... and it caught my eye...ha...

anyhows...i saw the following in an article in duet's magazine and i quote: "if there's something you don't like about a potential boy/girlfriend, never start the relationship thinking you can change him/her. Instead ask yourself if you can still love him/her despite those shortcomings."

scary dream...

had one of the scariest dreams ever last night...

it went something like this...i was at somebody else's home...at whose home i do not know...and for what purpose i also do not know...

all of a sudden some kind of atomic bomb explosion occurred at a few blocks away from the block i was in...it all happened so quickly...after which all you could see was this shockwave of dust rippling outwards from the explosion site...

what came next was news reporting that this explosion occured at selected blocks around the area i was in...it was like those blocks were randomly selected for obliteration using some kind of weapon with pin-point accuracy

what would happen if one day singapore is invaded by someone...or some thing?...i hope we don't live long enough to see that become reality...

NB Real Run 2008

one of the more demanding races out there...and ever since they shifted to changi exhibition center, it became demanding for one single reason...it gets REALLY sunny along the race route...and by sunny i mean HOT HOT HOT...

surprisingly though, i thought i did quite well today coming back in 46min...i really pushed myself today under the heat and the training runs at ecp under the sun with the guys for the past few weeks really paid off

in other news...i've always admired 康康's work...the guy's a rare talent...great comedian and this guy can really sing...康康's song 你不愛我 is one of my favourites and always gives me goosebumps whenever i hear it...

but when i finally saw the MTV on youtube...gave me quite a shock when the theme of the MTV slowly unfolded...not something i had expected...but nonetheless the goosebumps were still there...ha
