concert at the botanic gardens

went to this JAM ON! concert at the botanic gardens with meimei yesterday. it's part of a series of concerts organised by SPH under the SPH Gift of music series. performers included local bands Jive Talkin’, Ngak & the Ang Mo Pais and taiwan indie band sodagreen.

but on route to the shaw foundation symphony stage...we got to see some animals...

the 2 sole swans in the huge pond

there were a hell lot of palm sized xiao-qings and other fishes in the pond...

the swan statue right smack in the centre of the pond

a cute puppy...reminded us of 7zai...

an owner with his HUGE dog...

the shaw foundation symphony stage

by the time sodagreen were on stage...the ground was littered with people...
concert on the whole was pretty good considering the fact that it was free...even the local bands were not too bad themselves...

dinner was at crystal jade xiao long bao at holland V

smoked fish...somewhat disappointing as it was filled with bones...

fried gai-lan with mushrooms+garlic+carrots...yum...

xiao long bao...

sliced pork with bell pepper+cabbage...it came with pancake skins for you to eat it popiah style...

dessert was a berry sorbet at cold rock ice creamery...this is also the ice-cream place that mashes up your ice cream if you choose to add "toppings" into your ice cream...the "toppings" are mashed into your mashed up ice cream...

the "toppings" are charged are $1 per choice of whatever you want to add into your ice cream...if you think spending $1 to get a few measly M&Ms mixed into your favorite frozen dessert is a big waste of money, you can make yourself feel better by catching the staff in action while they wield their 2 ice cream mashing metal spatulas and pulverize your ice cream.
